COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 27, 2018

Colorado Institute for Social Impact (CI4SI) and Vectra Bank co-present the 2nd Annual PRISM Awards, a celebration of Social Impact Businesses and Social Entrepreneurs that are contributing to our economy and expanding the definition of business success, which will be held Friday, March 2, at The Briarhurst Manor Estate.

The PRISM Awards enhance CI4SI’s goal to create awareness of the growing 4th Sector. By empowering consumers with knowledge, people can make informed purchasing decisions. Each year, the event highlights a different industry that provides a service or product we use in our everyday lives. The 2017 PRISM Awards integrated Social Impact catering businesses and social entrepreneur chefs; this year’s event highlights the Social Impact Apparel and Accessories industry.

“CI4SI is proud to work with so many innovative Social Impact models. They are companies that have given consumers an outlet to buy quality products and services while also making a direct, positive impact on the community”, said Jonathan Liebert, executive director and CEO.

Attendees of the PRISM Awards will see apparel and accessories from the following Social Impact Businesses:

  • fab’rik Colorado Springs
  • Frayla Boutique
  • Janska
  • Men’s Xchange
  • Mountain Equipment Recyclers
  • TechWears
  • Yobel Market

The PRISM Awards is co-presented by Vectra Bank, and sponsored by Springs Rescue Mission, Colorado Springs Business Journal, Colorado Springs Independent, 92.9 Peak FM, AM 740 KVOR, EAS Creative Consortium, 365 Grand Club, Kangaroo Coffee, Colorado Collective, Men’s Xchange, Wright Group Event Services, Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center, and BBB of Southern Colorado.

“Clothing is part of our culture and what we choose to wear not only conveys information about us, it can also help create social impact”, said Gina Sacripanti, vice president of marketing and public relations. “Increasing awareness on Social Impact Businesses allows consumers to engage with businesses that align with their own missions and passions and become an active part in helping the community while doing everyday things like buying meals, recycling, and purchasing clothing and outdoor equipment.

CI4SI produces the PRISM Awards to honor Social Impact businesses and Social Entrepreneurs, and magnify their storytelling and their mission while also engaging our community. The event recognizes three categories: Social Impact Startup of the Year, Social Entrepreneur of the Year, and Social Impact Business of the Year.

“We are thrilled to see the momentum in the social impact sector and its impact on our community. Congratulations to all the finalists and nominees,” said Shawn Gullixson, vice president of Vectra Bank. “Vectra Bank is passionate about supporting our local businesses and to support the mission and vision of our social impact entrepreneurs.”
